Ephesians 6:10 NIV, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."
Do you have favorite phrases? I do. Most of mine come from television shows but there is one that comes directly from scripture. "...be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." It represents two thoughts to me. First, I believe that these words mean that anytime I feel weak or in need, I can count on God. God gives me strength. God is all powerful! This is awesome knowledge, especially since I feel both of these emotions daily. Second, the words help me to understand my purpose in life. The purpose that God has for me!
The Bible is consistent in telling us that we, as believers, are to spread the news of Jesus to as many people as we can. But, I have two big obstacles to following this goal. I am fearful of rejection by others. Secondly, I have situations that hinder me from going full throttle to doing God's work.
Although I cannot change many circumstances that are obstacles, I can turn to God's word for armor. This armor can shield me enough to focus on God's strength. With God's strength, I can do anything that is his will! In verse 13 of Ephesians the Bible states, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."
I am ready to stand for God! Are you ready? I lift God's sword--His word.
